Ah! The county fair! The one place where kids loved to run free, couples to spend a cute date, and parents… Well, watch over their kids. But oh no, not you. You were here dressed in a cute light blue summer dress, waiting for Henry. As late as it was at night, the sun was down, and the wind slightly blew, sending goose bumps up and down your legs. You wore cute tan sandals to match as well, and you regretted that decision as well. You felt as if your toes would freeze and fall off. Luckily for you, Henry doesn’t keep you waiting long, as you see his tall, childish figure racing towards you. “_____!” You giggled as he picked you up and swung you around by your hips. As he stood there holding you up, you placed a small kiss on his nose before he let you down.

“Henry!” You grasped his hand and walked inside. You looked around amazed to see all the bright lights and squeals could be heard from the gates from the thrilling rides.  Although you weren't a big fan of the roller coasters, you did enjoy the simple things like the ferris wheel and the tea cups. You put your petite finger to your lips in thought and then motioned to the tea cups that were towards the back of the fair, almost hidden from sight.

Henry chuckled as you almost bolted into a man as you sped off to wait in line for the ride.

--

You stood behind some of the smaller children that were also waiting patiently for their turn. One of the sweeter looking little girls turned to you and asked, "Miss, aren't you too old to ride this?" You panicked and looked around nervously.

"No! I like this ride!" You tried to state your defense in a nice tone. You knew she was only asking out of innocence. Until she began to rant about how old you were and how you would probably break the tea cup. You suddenly started to feel a little smart when you snickered at the younger girl and asked her, “Hey, it’s kind of late… Shouldn’t you be in bed?” The little girl scoffed and continued to make horrid assumptions about you and the ‘poor’ tea cup you choose. Your mouth dropped open from the girl’s snide comments. ‘What a rude little girl!’ You thought to yourself.

Henry caught up to you as you pouted about the little girl's nonsense. He put his hand on the small of your back and turned you around. He looked at you with his perfect caramel eyes, and chuckled before he asked in a light tone, “Jagi? What’s the matter?” You huffed as you nodded in the little girl’s direction.

He proceeded to laugh harder and almost keeled over if you hadn’t jabbed him in his side.

“Hey! She was being mean!” You stared out into the distance crossly. Henry rubbed your back in comfort and urged you quietly to ignore her. She was just too little for it to be such a problem. As you approached the front of the line, you quietly showed the man in charge your bracelet and he let you and Henry pass. You quickly forgot about the little girl as you practically skipped into the nearest tea cup. You flung open the door and happily plopped down. Henry soon followed, and sat right next to you carefully placing his arm around your small waist. You placed your hands on the wheel in the center of the tea cup and excitedly waited for the ride to start.

The man rehearsed the instructions and safety hazards for the ride in a monotone state before pressing the button to start up the ride. You giggled and looked over at Henry and said quietly, “I’m going to spin us as fast as I can.” You smirked evilly before turning the wheel round and round, watching the flying colors of the various stands and rides while feeling the chilly wind on your skin as you picked up speed. Henry threw his hands up as you continued to spin your small tea cup.

You laughed as your hair was whipped behind you slapping Henry as you continued to rotate. You caught a glimpse of the snotty little girl and quickly stuck your tongue out at her. She stared at you in disbelief and dropped her hands from the wheel, and she began to slow down as you continued to whirlwind around.

When the ride began to end, you slowed you turning and squeezed your burning arms from all the strength you put in from spinning you and Henry’s weight. As you exhaled in content, you exited the ride stretching your arms and legs before grasping Henry’s hand again and headed off the ride.

--

Henry and you stopped at little stands along the way to the next ride, picking through your fair food. You happily indulged not one, not two, but three delicious snacks you had purchased on the short walk to the Ferris wheel. Henry turned to you and tried to snatch the last bit of your remaining snack, but you would have none of it. You swiftly turned around and piled the small bite into your mouth. He looked at you in shock and pouted. “No fair Jagi!” You shrugged and waddled over to the nearest garbage can and dunked the wrapper into the heaping mess. Henry moped the whole way to the Ferris wheel, and you practically bounced at the thought of all the cute moments couples have had, and hoped Henry would try something cute. You were so clichéd when it came to romance, but it didn’t matter to you. It was the simple things that kept you happy. But you didn’t know that Henry was way ahead of those simple romance moves, like first kisses on the ride or holding hands. Not only that, but considering that you had been dating for a little over three years, he decided it was the perfect time to make the ultimate move in the relationship.

As you both approached the ride, you once again showed the man your vibrantly colored bracelets before moving on to board the car. You quickly dashed inside, as they kept the ride moving at a slow pace so the cars would continue to rotate so the open ones would be quickly filled by the next riders. The kind lady that was standing by to operate this half of the ride closed the door with a smile. You and Henry sat side by side, snuggling into each other to keep each other warm on the cold, unforgiving seats of the car.

Henry sneaked his free hand into his pocket as you were nearing the top of the ferris wheel. He poked around in it for a while until his fingers brushed over the small black box that was now comfortably fitted in his hand. As the ride jerked to a stop to let you gaze over the fair, Henry wriggled out of your grasp as you busied yourself in the view. He kneeled in front of you, breathing out heavily before poking you to get your eyes focused on his glossy ones. You looked over the fair once more before jerking your focus onto him.

“Ne opp-“ Your eyes landed on the box he held out and he slowly opened it, revealing a beautiful diamond ring, nestled in between two resplendent sapphire jewels. You were speechless for the longest time before you shook your head yes and fell into his arms from the seat. As you sniffled into him, he slid the ring onto your finger, and tried to help you up before the ride came back down.

As the ride ended, you both jumped out, your head high in the air, as you held hands and proudly wore your shining ring. “Saranghae oppa.” Henry smiled and kissed your cheek.

“Nado saranghae, jagiya.”
