(Hi everyone! Some of you may have wondered why I put pasta for Japan's gift…well…I messed up. So ignore that and pretend its something different and magical :3 I don't know what its gonna be yet…so yea…you will all find out when he opens it…sorry for the mess up.)
I ran my hand down the railing as I made my way down the last flight of stairs and continued out of the building. I stopped and waited for not only the bus, but Japan. I smiled and waved as he came into view from the distance. He smiled and waved back. Happily, forgetting that he didn't even know I liked him, I reached for his hand, but as he pulled away shyly, I blushed and turned away from the reaction he gave. "So…" I muttered softly trying to break the awkwardness of standing together waiting for the bus.
"So…" he muttered back softly placing his hand on the back of his neck. The bus came into view and I exhaled happily at the thought of escaping my situation. "He's never sat by me on the bus. He won't. No more awkwardness!" I smiled and climbed the stairs onto the bus and made my way to my seat.
"__! __!" He called my name as he sat next to me smiling. My eyes grew wide and blushed. "Hi again…Japan.."
"Hi." He replied looking into my eyes and softly placing his hand onto mine across the bus seat. I turned my attention the frosted cold window so he couldn't see my burning red face.
"Are you okay?" He said smiling.
"Mmm-hmm" I muttered.
"Oh…it's my bus stop I'll call you later..__"
"Okay…" I whispered back as his hand pulled away once again and he journeyed his way off the bus.
Emptying my backpack onto my bed, I searched my way through a pile of stuff. "Binders…wrappers of bugles, snicker bars and..ah hah! Paper." I hunted down a pencil and began writing Christmas cards. Finally I stopped when I had reached Japan's card and bit my nails thinking. I began writing: Merry Christmas Japan! Hope you get lots of gifts! "No, no, no, that's all wrong." I crumpled my paper up and threw it to the trash can and began writing again: Merry Christmas Japan, I'm so glad I have someone like you to share Christmas with. "Yea…that's alright." I finished decorating his card and sealed it in an envelope. As soon as I had finished wrapping my last gift, my mom called me down for dinner.
"So honey…how is school going?"
"Good" I mumbled, stabbing a piece of wilted lettuce with my fork.
"Then why is it your dad telling me you have F's?"
"Um…I don't know why. Now dad, why would you tell her that?"
"That's not funny __" My dad grumbled at me, clinking his fork and knife down on his plate. I took a bite of wilted lettuce and dinner was quite for the rest of the evening.
Around 8:00p.m I heard my phone ringing. "Hello?" My mom answered, walking into my room, a smile on her face.
I reached out for the phone whispering: "Mom! Give it to me!" She handed it to me and walked away giggling.
"Hello?" I spoke softly into the phone.
"Hi…" Japan spoke back, even softer then I had. There was a long pause.
"So…I was wondering what you were planning on doing for Christmas evening and…I wanted to y-you know…see if you wanted to go out with me to see the Christmas lights all around town…"
"Oh…that's so sweet of you."
"I know what you're thinking," he interrupted. "My dad said I could borrow his car.
I blushed. "I'd like that Japan, yes I'll go."
"Great!" (I swear I could almost hear his smile through the phone.) "I'll pick you up at 8:00."
"Sounds good. Bye."
"Bye." We hanged up and I began opening my door, when my mom fell through.
"Well someone has been spying." I said, placing my hands on my hips.
"My baby is growing up! She has a date!" She hugged me.
"What! Carol, honey, shouldn't we be punishing her? She has F's!"
"Well, yes, she does but it's going to be Christmas eve tomorrow and…she has a date!" My mom clapped her hands together and began rambling on about what I'm going to wear, and what makeup to use and how to do my hair. I clapped my hands over my ears, tackling my bed, and just as I began drifting off into a sleep I thought of what a Christmas miracle this was.
